Who and where can I find The Penguin?

People simply calls me Aileen and it is a very difficult name to pronounce at my home country (Indonesia).

I am a libran, always try to balance thing, so even though I'm a very "overthinking with heart" person, I'll try to balance it with "overthinking in a rational mind". I've been loving to eat, doodle & write since I was in Primary.

I'm pretty anal with small details, hence now you know why I've been putting all the exact dates here. It has always been my weakness and strength of looking over to micro-details. My top favorite things are listed below:

What does The Penguin do?

I used to be a professional graphic designer until third-quarter of 2016 when I just back to Jakarta from 5-year-overseas-work and decided that I'm "old" enough to start my own "thing". Not sure what it was back then. Until mid of 2017 and I found my true calling in Typography world and start to pursue it.

Long story short, it all starts when I joined Woman Empowerment Conference on April 29th, 2017 who had Sophia Amoruso as the Key Note Speaker, where I was forcing myself to finally getting my brand ready and PINGUART STUDIO was born on the name cards. From then the journey has keep rolling and been incredibly stoked!

Pinguart Studio (@pingu_art) is a hand-lettering-based studio that has vision on inspiring people to be their better-self and on spreading positivity to the world through typography.

Why Penguin?

I've been loving penguin since my High School time, it started when my friend teased me while I was playfully walking like a penguin. I've been using the name "pinguart" since back then, coming from the words "Pinguin" (Penguin in Bahasa Indonesia) and "Art". However the name "Pinguart Studio" was suggested by my friend/ex-lecturer/
mentor/bestie's cousin/respected photographer, Clarissa on November 5th, 2017.

The penguins that the world knows are a cute loving creature, very romantic and faithful to its partner and family. However I just found out that this mammal is actually pretty bitchy, read here. BIGLOL!  But, whatever, I'm still gonna continue to love it and treat it as pure as it was. hahahaha....
